My story

Looking For A Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Home Larissa has come a long way since she first arrived at Lighthouse! She was initially timid and insecure but with some time to adjust to her new surroundings, she has really come out of her shell and adores our volunteers. She has a medium energy level so she loves to be active out in the play yard but also enjoys lounging around for some one-on-one attention. One of our volunteers who has a soft spot for Larissa took her home for a day away from the shelter. Larissa enjoyed romping around the yard with the volunteer’s dog and was well-behaved and quiet in her home. Her forever family should keep her initial insecurities in mind but also recognize that with some confidence boosting, Larissa is full of sweet potential. She is a smart girl and food-motivated so confidence building should be a breeze and a wonderful bonding opportunity for Larissa and her forever family. Why Larissa is Looking For A Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Home: When Larissa arrived at Lighthouse, we noticed she was limping on her hind legs. After a visit to the vet and some X-rays, we discovered that she had previously injured her cruciate ligaments, which didn’t heal properly. Surgery is not needed at this time but she will require ongoing vet care (acupuncture and laser therapy) to aid in her healing process. Larissa is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home as Lighthouse will continue to cover the costs of this treatment.
