My story

Hi there, I’m Reese’s Pup! I am around 4.5 months old and no, I’m not peanut-buttery, but I am irresistibly sweet and a little nutty (in the best way). When I first arrived, I was like a melted candy bar—kind of a mess and too scared to let anyone near. But guess what? With some love and patience, I’ve transformed into a walking Reese’s Cup commercial: a perfect blend of smooth sweetness and just the right amount of fluff! When I first arrived at this whole "rescue" gig after being rescued from the shelter, I was a little unsure of the whole scene. People picking me up? Nope! I had my wiggle game on point and made sure no one got too comfy holding me. But now? Oh, now I’m that dog—the one who follows you everywhere. Laundry? I’m there. Bathroom? I’m supervising. Midnight snack? You better believe I’m your taste-tester. I’m sweet and calm and have decided that being loved on is my all-time favorite activity. Belly rubs? Check. Ear scratches? Double check. Whispering sweet nothings about how cute I am? Absolutely required. You know how Reese’s Cups are the perfect mix of peanut butter and chocolate? Well, I’m the canine equivalent—just the right blend of playful and chill. I’ve got enough energy to romp around with my doggy pals for a little while, but after that? I’m ready to be your snuggle buddy. Think of me as the creamy center in your otherwise hectic day. Fetch? Hah, that’s like asking a Reese’s Cup to be square—not happening. But toys? Oh, baby, I love them! Squeaky, crinkly, bouncy—you name it, I’ll play with it. I’m basically a connoisseur of canine entertainment. I’m sweet enough to melt your heart but laid-back enough not to cause a sugar rush. Whether you’re up for a quick game or just want to lounge around, I’ll be the perfect companion. Reese’s Pup: a classic you’ll never get tired of. 🐾🍫 So, let’s talk about my on-the-go personality—because even a Reese’s Pup has some quirks when it comes to adventure! Car rides? Well, let’s just say I’m more “peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth” than “smooth ride.” I get a little nervous and might stand there like a deer in headlights for a bit. But if you give me some gentle reassurance, I start to realize the car isn’t a monster trying to eat me—it’s just a weird moving box that takes me to fun places (or the vet...still deciding). Speaking of outings, I’m totally down for tagging along to cafes, pet stores, or social visits. Just keep in mind that I’m a shy guy. New people make me a little nervous, and I might do my best impression of a Reese’s wrapper—crinkle up and stay put. But with time and patience, I’m learning that strangers might actually hand out snacks, so they’re worth considering. Leashes are another thing I’m still figuring out. Sometimes, I hunker down like the world’s fluffiest speed bump. But hey, with a little encouragement, I’ll get moving. After all, who can resist a walk when it means more time with my favorite humans? And if you’re more of a homebody, don’t worry—I can totally vibe with that too. I’m perfectly content hanging out at home, playing with my toys, and being the sweet, steady presence that makes your house feel like home. When it comes to roommates, I’m basically the Reese’s Pup of compatibility—perfect with everything! Got other dogs? Great! I’ll be their chill, go-with-the-flow buddy. I play nice, share my toys, and won’t even judge if they hog the good couch spot. No other dogs? Also great! I’ll happily soak up all the love and attention. Cats? Oh, I’m cool with those too. I respect their mysterious, aloof ways and won’t chase or bother them. And kids? Oh, I’m the fluffiest friend they could ask for. Whether they want to play or just lay down and snuggle, I’m all in. Bonus points if they drop crumbs during snack time—because, hey, even Reese’s Pup has a sweet tooth for leftovers. Basically, I’m like that versatile Reese’s Cup flavor everyone loves: peanut butter and chocolate, but with a dash of universal adorability. Wherever I end up, I’m just ready to be someone’s perfect treat! 🐾🍫 Let’s talk about how I’m basically the gold standard of good behavior (with just a sprinkle of Reese’s Pup charm, of course). Apartment living? Totally cool with me. I’m not one of those loud, barky types who thinks every sound is the end of the world. Nope, I’m more Guardian Mode Level 1: Quiet as a Mouse. I only speak up if it’s super important—like if a squirrel is really teasing me. Potty training? Check. Kennel trained? Double check. I’ve got the basics covered so you won’t be running around cleaning up after me. Plus, I’m not into chewing on things that aren’t mine or digging holes like I’m trying to find buried treasure. I save all my energy for toys—and, okay, maybe a little snuggle time. Basically, I’m the perfect mix of sweet, chill, and well-mannered. Whether it’s in a cozy apartment or a house with a yard, I’m ready to be your Reese’s Pup: the treat that keeps on giving! 🐾🍫 Alright, let’s get real for a minute. I’m not just looking for any home—I’m looking for my forever family. You know, the kind of people who understand that I’m not an “until” dog. Not “until you move,” “until life gets busy,” or “until a new baby comes along.” I’m not a phase or a temporary companion—I’m the Reese’s Pup of your life, sweetening every moment for the long haul. I’ve already been through the scary part of not knowing where I belong, and I have no interest in going back to those days. So, if you’re looking for more than just a dog—if you’re ready for a forever friend who will love you unconditionally, let’s make forever happen together. 🐾❤️ So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below. I am being fostered in ✨Hutchinson, KS✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?! Catch ya soon, future family! Love, Reese’s Pup 🐾🍫 (Your forever treat!)

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Reese's Pup, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
