My story

My foster writes:Sid is a sweet, lovable guy! Perfect cat for someone who lives in a calm environment and is looking for a lowkey companion. He takes some time to warm up to a new place, but once he does, he loves to chat with you! He's not loud and is pretty food motivated. He does not enjoy being picked up, but will come up to you for pets and attention. My Foster Writes: Sid is a lovely and well behaved little gentleman who is looking for a long-term relationship with a patient person. And when that person comes along, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loyal companion who loves being brushed, gobbling up his treats, having his head scratched, and chasing a string. While he does enjoy a good chat at times, he also appreciates sitting together in the quiet, mutual understanding that it's nice to simply enjoy each other's company. He may need a little time to get to know someone new, but he will settle in and show you what a delightful little friend he is.A volunteer writes:Sid is a cat in a box, her safety nest, her imaginary bubble where she can exist away from everything and everyone that does not belong to the world she used to live in. Sid's owner unfortunately passed away with no next of kin able to take her in. She was, we were told, very attached to her and quite shy with occasional visitors. Sid often gives a little hiss when I open her cubby's door. I am not the one she was hoping for...She will very slowly sample the crab treats I lay in front of her and then comply with my petting, sometimes leaning against my hand. She might at times, blink at the sound of my voice. We all feel for Sid and all the seniors who grew over the years so attached and dependent on the care and mostly the love of one single owner. Still, there is always a place for hope. I remember from the past, a rescue group called "Bruised but not Broken". I think it could apply to our Sid. Her lucky star might shine again and guide a wonderful person, fond of seniors to meet Sid at the Manhattan Care Center. Primary Color: Gray Weight: 11.6 Age: 10yrs 8mths 4wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sid, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
