My story

Eva was originally surrendered to our rescue after being adopted from a county shelter as an adolescent after being picked up as a stray. Her former owner and his young son loved Eva, but due to his job in law enforcement he worked very long hours and Eva was often left home alone for 12+ hours per day. Thankfully he realized that this wasn’t fair to her and sought out help in finding her a new home. In the time since, Eva has been having the time of her life in her foster home, where she gets attention from her foster mom and all the other animals all day every day. But sadly for Eva, she has not gotten ONE single inquiry or application in the eight months that she has been in foster care. Not one. We are baffled! She is truly a sweet, funny, good dog. She has no issues whatsoever other than occasionally digging a hole in the yard when left out unsupervised too long and being a little too exuberant when meeting new people (she sometimes jumps up in her excitement- but only to get closer to your face to give you a kiss!). Seriously, the first time I met her she literally jumped into my lap. She loves people that much. In the time since coming into the rescue she has seen other dogs come and go, yet she is still here, patiently waiting for someone to take her home and love her forever. Eva is a two year old, 62# Husky girl. She is likely not 100% Husky but her temperament and personality are very characteristic of the breed. She is spunky, playful, talkative, and has never met a stranger. Eva is active without being over-the-top in terms of energy level and settles well in the house with sufficient exercise. Being a Husky, she can also be mischievous and a bit of a Houdini, though she is not destructive. Eva has been bounced around a bit in her short life and would love to find her forever family. She walks well on leash, has good name recall (especially for a Husky!), and knows basic obedience commands. She currently lives with other dogs as well as cats and previously lived with a child whom she loved. She is also spayed, chipped, and up to date. If you are interested in adopting Eva, please fill out an app at https://www.diamonddogsinc.org/adoption-application.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Eva, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
