Laurel

My story

Laurel was one of the Spencer County hoarding dogs taken in by GRRAND last year in 2024. She is about 5 years old, and a Lab/Golden mix. Laurel is the boss of the kennel yard! She plays in a pack of 8 or 9 other dogs and keeps them under control. She's been through a lot, but finally after several months she is now coming up to some volunteers to be petted. She loves treats and running the fence line at the kennel! She is going to need a very patient loving home with a secure, above ground fenced yard and another stable dog to show her the ropes and help build her confidence with how people are good, and her general fears. As you can see from her pictures, her exterior scars have healed, but the mental ones are still a work in progress. Initially she will be a big flight risk, so no children please.  And if you would like to learn more about Laurel, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   A beacon of hope shines bright as GRRAND and animal advocates across the commonwealth collaborate to help rescue animals trapped in a devastating hoarding situation on a rural County Kentucky farm. Advocates eagerly await justice for the abused animals and the swift rescue of those still suffering in inhumane conditions.  It's awful to think of the terrible lives and abuse they have been subjected to.
