Whitley is one of the Spencer County hoarding dogs that arrived at GRRAND last September '24. She is a little over 2 years old. She doesn't mess in her run, has been spayed, and loves to play with other dogs. This girl is another kennel. favorite because of her crazy, goofy antics and makes volunteers laugh daily! She is very treat motivated and will gently take them from your hand. Whitley shares a room with Laurel, and they do great together, but when she hits the play yard this little 40 lbs dog thinks she's a lioness and rough and tumbles with the big 70lb dogs! We have a trainer working with her to walk on leash, but she may never be a dog to take for walks outside the yard due to her insecurities and fears. When Whitley goes home she will need another stable, playful dog, a secure above ground fenced yard as she is still considered a flight risk, and experienced dog owners who will have the patience and compassion to work with her through her adjustments of being in a home. If you would like to foster or adopt Whitley, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org A beacon of hope shines bright as GRRAND and animal advocates across the commonwealth collaborate to help rescue animals trapped in a devastating hoarding situation on a rural County Kentucky farm. Advocates eagerly await justice for the abused animals and the swift rescue of those still suffering in inhumane conditions and Whitley was one of these dogs. It's awful to think of the terrible lives and abuse they have been subjected to. A litter of 4 week old puppies were found on the property and all had to be treated at the Emergency Vet for Parvo to save their lives and sadly, one did not make it. We have extremely high vet expenses for these dogs and really need ongoing donations to pay for all their care and we are also in desperate need of foster homes for these dogs. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Whitley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
