My story

Say hello to Ameera!  Her name means “Princess” in Arabic.  This poor girl was the victim of a fox attack that required the amputation of her left hind leg.  She has made a full recovery at her foster’s apartment and is now a happy, active housecat! She was rescued by a Virginia Beach resident working as a contractor in Jordan as part of his efforts to save some of the many, many street cats of Amman. As his time working there winds down, he’s desperately seeking loving permanent homes for them in the US - how cool would it be to add one of these babies to your family? Not everyone has a Jordanian cat, after all! Even though Ameera had never encountered a human before being attacked by a fox she is a very affectionate little cat.  She is the first one to greet her foster human when he enters the apartment and will stand by his feet and meow until she gets petted.  She can be lifted gently and will rub her face against her foster’s nose while he gives her pets while she is in his arms. Despite her injury and the trauma she endured Ameera loves to play with toys and wrestle and chase her foster roommates.  Her missing leg does not affect her ability to run and jump and play at all.  She enjoys sleeping in her kitty cat bed near the window soaking up the sunshine and watching the birds on the balcony. Households with dogs and children would be unsuitable for Ameera.  Her ideal forever home would be a quiet one where she would be the only cat or with another calm, relaxed cat.  Her adopter must be very patient with her and shower her with love to let her know that she can let her guard down and relax.  After all she has been through this precious girl has so much potential to be the perfect housecat! Ameera has several foster roommates that she gets along extremely well with that are also available through Billy The Kidden Rescue.  Please consider adopting Eddie, Penguin or Frosty to keep her company and give her someone to play with! Ameera is about a year old, spayed and microchipped.  She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is FIV/FeLV negative. Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com. ‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ameera, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
