HIGHLIGHTS:- Needs another dog in the home- Needs a fenced-in backyardMeet Dallas – A Gentle Soul Searching for Confidence and CompanionshipDallas is a 7-year-old Standard Poodle who weighs 54 pounds. With a soft heart and a cautious spirit, this shy but sweet boy is still learning to trust the world around him—and making quiet strides every day.Though he may seem reserved and nervous inside his kennel, Dallas begins to brighten once he’s outside in the fresh air. He feels most at ease when he’s around other dogs, especially confident ones who help guide him. Dallas walks well on leash when he has a calm canine friend by his side, but he can become anxious when navigating the world alone. Because of this, he will thrive in a home with another confident dog to show him the ropes and offer comfort.Time in the yard is Dallas’s favorite part of the day. He comes alive when he has space to run and play, especially when other dogs are involved. His playful spirit shines through in these moments, and he even lights up for treats—making him a great candidate for continued training. A securely fenced yard (at least 5 feet tall) is essential for helping him feel safe while giving him the freedom he needs to move at his own pace.Dallas is looking for a patient, loving home that understands the power of gentle encouragement. With time, a supportive environment, and maybe a canine buddy to cheer him on, Dallas will continue to grow into the confident, joyful companion he was always meant to be.--Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
