My story

SPECIAL NEEDS   NAME: CARTER  BREED: Terrier/Chihuahua blend AGE: 6 months WEIGHT: 8 pounds’ish   Carter is believed to have a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia, or CH. He has recovered a lot of his muscle tone and balance since coming into the rescue, however he still needs a few supports to keep him safe. For example, Carter CANNOT be left alone on furniture or allowed to walk up/down stairs on his own, as he lacks the consistent ability to navigate these items independently in a safe manner. We also recommend that Carter is held in a safe area, such as a dog pen, when not supervised, so that he doesn't get himself into trouble.    Aside from those easy to understand details, what is Carter like? Carter is a silly boy who likes playing with toys and other dogs. He has funny ways of walking and he loves to hop around.    He has a solid routine with feeding and potty breaks, and he's doing well with those.    He loves squeaky toys and treats, and would love a home with a gentle playmate to be his buddy. Somewhere he could grow into his big boy self safely and well supervised.    It has been a joy to watch Carter blossom, and we imagine he will continue to do so with the loving attention he will receive in his future forever home.   To further inquire about CARTER, submit an online application via our website.    https://wigglytails.org   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how CARTER will mesh with your lifestyle.    Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.    Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family.     We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for CARTER, as well as his future family.   *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon   ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/   •••• Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with information about the next steps and setting up a Meet and Greet. Our process is not a “first come, first served” process. Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants to find the best fit for each adoptable dog and potential family. Filling out an application in no way guarantees you a dog or a response email as we get hundreds of applications and choose the best home for the dog. Distemper/Parvo boosters,  and rabies shot, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery are included with the adoption fee.  You will also receive a PetSmart puppy packet with hundreds of dollars of savings, a FREE bag of food, 30 minute private training session with a certified dog trainer, and a free checkup at Banfield.  Potential adopters must live within 30 miles of Eugene, Oregon. If you live outside the 30 mile radius, still send us an email, as we will can make exceptions if the circumstances are optimal for the dog or puppy. ##2057835##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Carter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
