My story

Boy, do I Blaze have exciting news to share with everyone! I have been at the shelter since September 2024 so you may have read many stories about me on Facebook, in the newspaper, and on the shelter website. I have been bunking with a great foster family in the Village of Oak Creek (VOC) since early May to get a respite from shelter life. Last weekend they took me to meet some interesting people who live nearby. I really enjoyed the morning sunshine and I met a real cowgirl and her horse buddy Melody. They were both very pretty gals and they talked to me about what horses need to live well into their twenties. The smell of hay seemed delicious. Then we visited a place where the grapes were thick and green and growing in the shadows of the red rocks. This guy really knows a lot about red wine but no samples were offered. Then I visited someone sitting high up in the sky but I`ll talk about him later. My foster parents have 3 other dogs and there isn`t room for me in their home past the end of May. Can you step up and take me on more adventures and share some one on one time with me too? I get along well with other dogs once we have a slow introduction, I am house broken, care free, funny, and my foster parents say that I am easy to walk, and calm. Once I get comfortable with you I am approachable, lovable, happy, and eager to please.I may be 9 ½ years old but I am learning new things every day. I have been treated to car rides with the volunteers and have become an easy traveler as I enjoy seeing all the sights when I am out and about. I look forward to leisurely leash walks, and enjoy playing short distance fetch. I respond quickly to ‘sit’ commands, and will raise a paw for a long handshake and take treats softly like a real gentlemanThe biggest thing missing in my life is YOU! So, bring your family and let`s do a “meet and see”. I get very sad when I think about how long I have lived at the shelter. Call the Humane Society of Sedona at (928)-282-4679 as we are open from 10-4 every day of the week, except major Holidays.
