My story

Meet Hachi, a sweet little black and white terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! A Snuggle Bug at Heart – Hachi loves to cuddle and will happily curl up next to you for belly rubs and nap time. He has a special bond with our 9-year-old daughter (in his current foster home), sleeping beside her every night and being carried around by her like a doll. Great Walking Buddy – He enjoys his daily walks and does well on a leash, making him a nice companion for strolls around the neighborhood or light hikes. Playful & Energetic – Hachi loves squeaky toys, chasing sticks, and playing with balls. Dog-Friendly – He has been living with an old female dachshund and a male beagle and gets along well with both. He seems to enjoy canine company and would do well in a home with other friendly dogs. Doggy Door Trained & Potty Trained – Hachi knows how to use a doggy door and is potty trained, though he does best when given frequent outdoor breaks and monitored to make sure he actually does his business. Beware of carpets. He is much better on tiled floors. Sunbathing Enthusiast – One of his favorite pastimes is lounging in the sun, soaking up the warmth. Family-Friendly – He has been fostered in a home with two young girls (ages 6 and 9) and has done great, especially bonding with the older child. I’d be cautious around young toddler as they can be grabby, and Hachi doesn’t like surprises. Loves His Treats but Prefers His Space – Hachi enjoys chewing on bones but prefers to have them in private – approaching dogs and people may receive a warning growl and grumble from him. So either don’t give him bones or let him have them alone in a crate. It’s the one thing he seems quite possessive over. A Little Picky About Grooming – He enjoys being brushed but isn’t a fan of nail trims, so a little patience (or a groomer’s help) is best! No Cats or Chickens, please! – Hachi has a strong prey drive and will chase small animals, so a cat-free and chicken-free home is ideal. With training I’m sure he’d get better. Crate Trained But Prefers Company – He’s comfortable in a crate but would much rather be by your side, enjoying life with his favorite people. Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hachi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
