My story

Hello, my name is Zack! I am a dashing 14-year-old, neutered male, short-haired tuxedo with a heart as big as my personality! I was relinquished to MaxFund August 2024 by no fault of my own, and now I am looking for my fur-ever home!I may be a senior, but I have plenty of love (and forehead kisses) left to give. One of my favorite things in the world is having the top of my head kissed—if you give me one, don’t be surprised if I pull you in for some affectionate forehead licks in return. That’s just my way of saying, “You’re mine now!” I am a friendly and easy-going boy. I enjoy getting pets. I enjoy playing. I really like attention. I`m super sweet and, as you can see, very handsome. I love to explore, especially from up high, and you’ll often find me strutting across the tops of the kennels, taking in the view like the distinguished gentleman I am. But as much as I enjoy my time at MaxFund, with all the wonderful volunteers who visit me, I dream of something more—a forever home where I can truly belong. I am a sweet, social, and affectionate guy who loves cuddles, attention, and simply being near my favorite people.I get along with other cats, but I have a little… let’s call it enthusiasm for food. I am an opportunistic food thief so you`ll have to watch me carefully! I’m on a special diet and other food makes me sick, so I could use a bit of help resisting the temptation of sneaking bites from my feline friends. (Hey, can you blame me?) I am not sure how I would do with a dog, I definitely do not like high energy dogs. If you have a dog, the shelter staff can test me with a MaxFund dog and see how I do.I do have some health needs—hyperthyroidism, which is managed with medication, and a likely case of HCM, though I don’t currently take any heart meds. But don’t let that scare you away! I’m still full of life and ready to share my golden years with someone special.If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me!The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Closed 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for lunch.
