My story

Hello! I’m Fontina, a gentle senior girl looking for a home. In June 2022, Soi Dog picked me up for sterilisation but discovered I had a tumour that needed treatment first. It turned out to be TVT, a unique type of cancerous tumour that dogs can catch from contact with each other. Fortunately, it’s very treatable, and I soon made a full recovery. Being a small and senior girl, the Soi Dog team knew I would struggle to make it on my own on the streets again and thought it would be best for me to stay at the shelter until I found a home. I currently live in an enclosure with many other small dogs like me. If you’ve taken a tour of Soi Dog in recent years, you might have even met me yourself! I’m the girl with the big soulful eyes and the thick black eyeliner. Outside the comfort of my enclosure, I can be a little nervous and will stop walking when I feel unsure. However, I have my brave days. The photos below of me running free in the off-lead areas are a great example. After a life spent on the streets and in a shelter, I’d love to find a home in time to enjoy my golden years! DISCLAIMER: I am located at Soi Dog in Phuket, Thailand. Soi Dog charges no adoption fee for me and I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters simply need to cover the cost of my travel crate, flight(s), and Rabies Titer Test (RTT).
