Ziggy

My story

Ziggy is a very handsome 10yo male tabby cat. He came to the shelter in July 2024 where he was terrified, went to a foster home in November and December, back to the shelter for a few weeks, then went to his current foster home between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. So this guy is long overdue to finding his forever home! Ziggy can be slow to warm to people at first, but he’s worth the extra effort! He’s very cuddly and sweet with people he trusts. He’s very food motivated so treats help for positive reinforcement and getting him to trust new humans. Ziggy’s favorite things include: blankets of any size, but especially fuzzy ones Burrowing under said blankets Catnip toys Butt pats, scratches, and rubs Scratches behind the ears Kisses on the head Ziggy’s typical day in his foster home starts when foster dad wakes up around 5am-6am and serves his wet food for breakfast. He spends most of the day napping under all the blankets in his room. Foster mom and dad check on him throughout the day and give him love. He gets the other half a can wet food again for dinner around 4:30pm-5pm. He also gets treats periodically, which he loves. He’s very food motivated! 10PM is what his foster parents like to call Ziggy Cat Witching Hour where Zig comes out to party! He emerges from his blankies and plays all night with the kitty toys in the foster room. He does meow sometimes during his cat parties but he will settle if you talk to him. We’re not sure where he developed this sleep pattern but in time he could adjust to a normal cat sleeping routine. The few times guests or one of his foster parents have slept with him, he was calm and cuddly. In Ziggy’s ideal home, he would be the only pet. We’re not sure how he is with kids, so we would want to do a meet to make sure he’s okay with them. He’s a major mama’s boy! Prior experience owning cats is always a plus, but especially with this guy as it takes him some time to warm up. It may be a few weeks or months before his personality really shows!
