**$240 in pledges to any rescue that may pull!** Tango is a 3-year-old sweetheart who’s looking for a fresh start. He was found abandoned in a crate outside ACCT Philly’s lobby and, despite that rough beginning, he’s full of love and resilience. Tango was recently adopted but returned after just a few days—he barked more than expected, likely out of needing some time to decompress in to a new environment. This handsome boy just needs a little patience and understanding as he settles in. Tango is confident, social, and incredibly affectionate. He loves placing his paws in your lap for cuddles and might sneak in a kiss if you’re lucky! He's also super food-motivated (a little enthusiastically so!), so tossing treats is a great way to win his heart and reinforce good behavior. He already knows "sit" and will often show it off before you even ask. Playtime is a blast with Tango—he enjoys chasing tennis balls and climbing the A-frame like a champ. Tango is ready to thrive in a home that gives him the time and space to decompress. In return, he’ll be your loyal, loving, treat-loving cuddlebug. Come meet Tango at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. He can’t wait to meet you! Tango fixated on the kid and was vocal and trying to get to them while passing. It seemed to be a frustration thing since the kid was in his lap and not ground level. I kept a tight grip on him and by the point Tango started reacting it made more sense to just keep moving and pass by then to stop and turn around but the man was reasonably scared of Tango as he passed since he was grumbling. He did the same thing towards a small dog in a side bank that we had to pass and again he seemed overexcited/frustrated. He was easy to return to his kennel and I threw a biscuit in for him. Playgroup 4/19: Tango was very stiff and forward with a high tail the whole time. He was greeted by many dogs and kept himself still and forward. He postured towards the other male dog in the yard quite often (master). He struggled to loosen up and we were brining rowdy players to the yard so we took him out. Per volunteer 4/18: Tango - kennel presence was great. Low and excited tail wags and easily leashed. Tango does pull on the leash when excited but also could walk calmly when there are no distractions. He will pull towards dogs- did a brief fence meet and body language was TBD. Was able to walk by dogs from a distance and not care or pull He appears house trained. Before our time outside was done, a staff member asked if he could take over walking Tango because he was their favorite! Evaluated and made GOLD. 04/5/2025 Volunteer Notes: What a super friendly boy! Tango was at the front of his kennel with a waggy tail and was ready to go when I approached. No issues exiting. He went potty right away. Easy on leash for a big dog. Tango has no concept of personal space and thinks he is a lap dog! He has so much love to give. Allows all over handling. He has the sweetest face and softest eyes. Very snotty with his cold so we had to keep away from other dogs. Snatchy with treats and didn’t seem to know any commands. Otherwise, a perfect pup! 03/22/2025 Volunteer Notes: I took Tango out with a guest volunteer. Tango was easy to leash and return to kennel. He is very food motivated and can be snatchy, so best to toss him treats. He seems to enjoy pets and likes to snuggle. He’ll even sneak you a kiss if you’re lucky. He did the A-frame for me and chased a tennis ball. He’s a hunk and a half. 03/21/2025 Staff Notes: Tango was on the backside of the kennel bars with dilated eyes and a wagging tail. I reached in with the leash, and he put his nose through the crack to sniff. He allowed easy leashing and came right out once secured. Pulls minimally to moderately on the leash. In the room, Tango was very social and friendly, wagging with a mid-level tail and a confident strut. He was super cuddly and jumped up onto my lap with his front paws when I called for him and allowed most handling, with some sensitivities to his side. He would just look back and give some wide eyes showing discomfort. He remained very tolerant though and continued to push his big head into my face. He is very treat motivated and will sit for you before you even ask him. He is quite snatchy but does catch treats very well and needs to know before further pets that you don't have any more in your hand. Engaged in play. Interest but no possession—slight mouthing. 03/21/2025 Staff Notes: Tango was reactive with minimal restraint on exam. After muzzling, Tango began growling. 03/20/2025 Staff Notes, Playgroup: Very assertive in playgroup. Got along with the female dogs in the yard but seemed very tense around the males. At one point, he walked up to a male dog, stiffened, made hard eye contact, and then went after the male, trying to latch onto him. The other dog defended himself and scraped Tango's nose. 03/20/2025 during the initial intake exam it was noted that Tango was thin and had a body condition score of 3. His ears were waxy, coat dirty, and he was noted to have mild tartar build up on his teeth. He was bright, alert, responsive, friendly and extremely food motivated. MEDICAL 03/24/2025 Tango came down with an upper respiratory infection and was started on doxycycline. On 3/25 the PCR test came back negative. 03/21/2025 during an exam It was noted that Tango was bright, alert, responsive, normal mentation, and was reactive to exam. Cropped ears AU, ears clean AU. Lenses clear OU, conjunctival hyperemia OU, no ocular discharge. MMs pink and moist, CRT could not be assessed, could only view left maxillary canine that had calculus staining. No nasal discharge. No cough elicited on tracheal palpation. No peripheral lymphadenopathy. No M/A ausculted, femoral pulses S/S, BV sounds bilaterally across chest, eupneic.
