My story

Millie is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Millie is: - Spayed: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Millie: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: Millie doesn’t love the crate but has done well with short bursts of free roam! She will need a patient adopter who can continue to work with her on this. Leash walking: Doing well! Dog social: Yes! She lives with two large resident dogs in her foster home and has been doing well. Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown, but she likely won’t be a match for young kids, she prefers quieter adults Millie likes: - Giving kisses and being pet by her trusted humans - Rolling in the grass and eating doggie ice cream - Getting compliments on her perky ears - “Parkouring” off of trees and walls on her walks - Watching her namesake in Stranger Things Hello world, meet Millie!! Millie is a very special girl; she feels things deeply and has a very gentle soul! We don’t know much about Millie’s life before OTAT, what we do know is that she was found as a stray in Chicago with a very broken spirit and several fully healed scars on her face and body. We know based on her initial demeanor, she likely had a rough start to life, but we’ve been able to work with her for several months now and help her regain her confidence and learn to trust again! Millie loves the outdoors, long walks, pup cups, antlers, & will do just about anything for treats! She’s a cuddler, loves to play, and has the cutest yawns you’ll ever see. She’s very bright, she’s already graduated from a basic obedience class at Copilot Dog Training and absolutely loves learning! She regularly visits an indoor agility facility and has learned lots of cool moves! Millie knows sit, down, paw, touch, over, up, ‘go to place’, leave it, come, and much more! Millie is dog-friendly, she has been living in a foster home and has two foster brothers whom she adores! When we first took Millie in, she looked to her brothers a lot to learn how to be a dog and for a sense of security. She would love to have a sibling in her forever home! What Millie is looking for in her forever home: kindness, patience, gentleness. Millie can sometimes take a while to warm up to new situations or new people and would greatly appreciate an adopter who can help her feel safe when she’s feeling overwhelmed. She does tend to prefer the company of female-presenting caregivers but has formed strong attachments with male-presenting caregivers as well. Millie gets very attached to her humans and initially struggled with separation. While she doesn’t appreciate being crated, she has shown great aptitude for free roam and continues to increase her time home alone little by little! Millie currently attends dog daycare a couple of times per week to allow her humans peace of mind while they’re at work. For more photos & videos of Millie, check out her fan page on Instagram, @adopt_millie! Millie has been taking behavior support medication to aid in her training goals. Millie's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter and she is so ready to meet you! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Millie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
