My story

Juergen is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption application on our website to learn more about him and schedule a phone call or meet and greet with his foster! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized - Currently taking medication for anxiety support - Juergen had surgery to repair his cleft, nose, and palate and also had dental extractions. He has healed up well from this! More about Juergen: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: Juergen can become distressed when left at home alone, and has been making improvements over time and with the help of medication and a dog pal to keep him company. He will need an adopter who can help him continue to work on this as he adjusts to his new home and routine. Leash walking: Doing well overall, though can sometimes pull toward exciting woodland creatures Dog social: Friendly! He loves other dogs and has been playful but respectful. He seems to benefit from having a dog pal in the home! Cat social: Yes, he lives with dog-savvy cats in his foster home and has been doing well with them after a proper intro period Kid friendly: He is best suited to kids 12+ as he is a big boy who can become jumpy when excited Juergen likes: - Wiggling his whole body when his tail wags - Going on adventures and hanging out on patios with you - Blueberries and bananas, and gently accepting a cookie from a new friend Juergen is an amazing dog who is so ready to be adopted. He's friendly, potty trained, and so so sweet. His ideal home is full of fun, active adults who want to spoil him and go on adventures. If you're looking for an active young dog that will go on adventures with you and then snuggle on the couch for hours on end, Juergen is your dude. He's very food motivated and loves to learn, play with other dogs, be anywhere that you are. He has been working on being comfortable with being home solo, so would love an adopter who is home more often than not and who can help him continue to work on this. He can be very excited when meeting new people and in new situations, so would also love a home where he can continue to work on self-soothing, i.e. by working on mental enrichment, redirecting to an appropriate toy, or practicing Relaxation Protocol. Whoever adopts Juergen is going to have a life full of cuddling, kisses, and more love than they know what to do with!
