My story

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.`Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might… have the wish I wish tonight. I wish YOU would adopt ME!`This sweet, playful pup is ready to brighten someone’s life! Starlight is an affectionate, active teenager who loves nothing more than playing tug, fetching tennis balls, and soaking up belly rubs from her favorite humans. She’s eager to please, fully potty trained, and making great progress with crate training and basic commands like sit and down.Starlight is very food-motivated, making her a quick learner—she’s already improving her leash manners and impulse control at doorways. While she’s still figuring out her feelings about other dogs, she’s showing great progress in checking in with her foster on walks.Because she’s fascinated by small critters, a home without cats would be best for this enthusiastic girl. She’d love access to a yard but does just fine borrowing friends’ fenced spaces or visiting SniffSpots. Most of all, she wants a patient, loving adopter who will continue helping her build confidence. Her foster says Starlight is one of the sweetest pups she’s ever met—full of love, snuggles, and playful energy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly, Starlight just might be your perfect match! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more. Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal’s location. From the Dog Kennels/Dog Isolation/Dog Quarantine (in shelter): To meet this dog, please come to Seattle Animal Shelter at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, between 1 – 5 pm one of on one of our open days, no appointment needed.
