My story

Meet Diancie ACCT-A-167781!! Diancie is a sweet, affectionate gal looking for a loving home where she can be a cherished family member. Originally found as a stray in 2024, Diancie was adopted quickly but finds herself back at our shelter due to her owner's move and ability to keep only one dog. They shared, Diancie is crate trained, mostly housetrained, and walks nicely on a leash with just a bit of pulling. She’s a medium-energy pup who enjoys playing tug, going for walks, or simply spending time with her people. Diancie would do well in a home where she can take things at her own pace with someone who is able to provide patience, understanding, routines, and plenty of TLC. If you’re looking for a furry friend who’s affectionate, a bit independent, eager to be close, Diancie might be the girl for you. Video: Diancie and Naomi Meet Part 1: https://youtu.be/L0RNuGPTfow Diancie and Naomi Meet Part 2: https://youtu.be/MFivtihlZi8 Behavior: 06/16/2025 staff notes: I took Diancie out for her dog meet and she was very easy to leash in crate, with loose body language all around. She went through kennels relatively fast as well, and did not pull much if at all on leash. Outside, she was largely disinterested in Naomi, and mostly explored her surroundings as well as intermittently kicking up dirt. She did have a couple short face to face meets with Naomi, and they went well. They sniffed each other briefly and then went back to largely ignoring each other. She was more focused on me as a handler and her environment, and near the end she sidled up next to me affectionately, before playful turning to me & jumping. We thought about doing another face to face meet but Naomi had exhibited a bit of guarding for her handler, so we decided against. She was easy to walk back through kennel and put back into her crate. She did bark at me as I was leaving, but they seemed like barks for attention as her body language was still quite loose. Medical: On 06/16/2025 staff noted: "2yr FI bulldog Owner surrender, upon exam she was bright, alert responsive. She has cherry eye in OU and is also obese but no other physical injuries noticed upon exam, over all WNL. Weight-59.4 lbs Body Condition Score 8 - Obese” ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diancie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
