My story

Meet Lilly 🐾 Scruffy, Sweet, and Totally One-of-a-Kind Lilly might just be the scruffiest pup we’ve ever had—and we mean that in the best way. With her wiry coat, bright smile, and soulful eyes, she turns heads everywhere she goes. And once you get to know her, it’s easy to see why her fan club of volunteers can’t stop raving. She can be a little shy at first, but once she knows you’re there to love her, she’s all in—full-body-contact cuddles included. Lilly is house-trained, crate-trained, rides well in the car, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows sit and paw. Basically, she’s got all the foundations down—all she’s missing is a home. Lilly did wonderfully with the cat in her previous home and would be happy to live with a feline friend. She prefers to be the queen of her castle when it comes to other dogs, so she’d do best as the only pup in an adult-only home. That said, she enjoys respectful dog interactions in playgroup—think gentle, low-key play with lots of breaks. This girl is an easy favorite for volunteers—kind, calm, and a breeze to walk. She loves dipping her paws in the water and has a surprising snack preference: Milk-Bones over cheese (we were shocked too). Summer can be a bit warm for this hairy girl, but she’s always happy to chill in the shade or near a fan. Lilly is the kind of dog who makes life sweeter just by being in it.
