My story

Introducing Torpedo! Torpedo came to us after being found in a home with too many dogs and lots of tension between the dogs. Torpedo, however, has begun to thrive in our care and is ready for his new home. Torpedo is actually one of the last dogs left from his group, but at no fault of his own. Torpedo, who often goes by Torpie or Petey with our staff and volunteers, is a friendly man who loves to receive pets and give kisses. Torpedo is still working on some of his doggy manners, including leash walking. Due to his complex history with other dogs, Torpedo is dog selective, meaning some dogs he gets along with and some he does not. Torpedo also has some unique medical needs. He has environmental allergies that make him susceptible to itchy skin. Interested? Torpedo is also a part of our Rosie's Rule program. Animal Friends has teamed up with Fi Smart Dog Collar to provide GPS-enabled dog collars for Animal Friends' canine residents who may be at an increased risk of becoming separated from their handler. Once outfitted with a Fi collar, Rosie's Rule dogs will keep their collar through adoption along with a one year subscription to the Fi App- at no cost to their new family. Torpedo is one of Aurora's "Special Canines", meaning that his requested adoption donation has been underwritten, and his new family will receive a starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs. This special package is made possible by Aurora's Special Canines Fund established in honor of a spunky little dog named Aurora to ensure that dogs in our care who are struggling to find a suitable home due to their age, or unique medical or behavior needs are given that extra support.
