My story

Description Shep is a German Shepherd mix who is eager to please and be your best companion. Personality Shep is affectionate and loves to be with humans and dogs. He gets the zoomies and loves to chase and wrestle with our other foster dog. At night he becomes the best sofa snuggler. He is quickly learning how to walk with a loose leash and loves exercising. He is talkative and responsive and well behaved. Shep is gentle and always ready for neck scratches and to give kisses. He is comfortable with the other two dogs in his foster home, as well as the female stray he was found with. He has acclimated well to the house, and is house trained. He is sweet, kind and loving. He is ready to find a family that will give him the love he deserves and so willingly gives. Shep would love a home with people that provide love, affection, and neck scratches. Background Shep was rescued from a dirt road in Porter, Texas on October 6, 2023. He was malnourished and not using his one back leg. He has recovered fully and is healthy and happy now. At his vet visit, it was discovered that Shep had been shot, and the bullet was lodged in his back. The bullet was successfully surgically removed and he is all better and back to being an active dog. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit at my foster home or local Petsmart!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shep, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
