My story

Victoria's name comes from the fact that she was found with two broken but healing legs and was taken to Austin Animal Center where she was thoroughly examined, her fractures checked and corrected, vaccinated, and spayed. They reached out to TGPR and it didn't take too long for us to scoop her right up. Shortly after arriving at her foster's home it was clear that she is deaf. We sent her to a special trainer to teach her about getting along in the world that was extra scary to her. Victoria is learning that people and other dogs aren't as scary as she thought. She is working on receiving touch and giving affection. She will take some time to truly trust her new people and the home that adopts her will be OK with looking out for her needs and building trust and safety. She's pretty well potty trained and walking well on a leash. She will be introduced to the foster pack once her confidence is firmly in place. Victoria will do great in a patient home willing to continue her confidence building and giving her time to mature. Teen children would be fine but younger kiddos have proven to be difficult for her since they are less predictable thatn adults. She has a strong prey drive so a cat free home is best for her. Victoria is a beautiful pyr mix, mostly pyr with a few black spots sprinkled on her ears. She demonstrates many qualities of the Great Pyrenees: intelligence, sensitivity, observant, beauty, loyal, and much more. She is ready for a forever home that will love her and enjoy watching her grow up and blossom into all that she has to offer.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Victoria ATX, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
