My story

**ADOPTION FEE FULLY SPONSOREDKid friendly: Selective (no kids under 5-10 years - is extremely uncomfortable with children that move rapidly and are loud with frenetic movement but is overall improving)Dog friendly: Yes, veryCat friendly: NoSize: XL (95+ lbs)Energy level: Low-med - will play enthusiastically but very chill when insideLeash skills: Pulls when excited but very mannerly especially for size, super food motivated and offers eye contact and automatic sits for treatsKeeps a clean kennel: Yes~Wolfie Fun Facts~1) Joined FFAA all the way back at the beginning of August in 2023! He quickly found a home as a puppy, but due to unexpected lifestyle changes, he no longer fit in with his family and had to come back. Since then, we've watched him grow up and mature. He's now a tall, grownup boy with the sweetest personality. 2) Currently the biggest dog at FFAA and has been for months (he's approaching 100 lbs). He's now nearly two years old -- over than 3/4 of his life has been spent at the shelter.3) FANTASTIC with other dogs; has had many playmates during his stay of all ages, sizes, breeds, and genders. He is tolerant yet playful, jumping in with all 4 paws but not interested in conflicts. On the rare occasion he corrects another dog, he is fair, measured, and restrained. We have zero complaints when it comes to his dog-to-dog interactions. 4) Has great manners on a leash and off. He's not needy but he likes to be by your side. 5) Low-medium energy -- as he reaches full maturity and outgrows his puppy-ish-ness, we see him excelling as a professional couch potato. 6) Wolfie has a ton of fun during playgroup (playing with other shelter dogs). He loves fetch, chewing on bones and sticks, and LOVES trick training for treats. He knows sit and down, has nice leash manners, and picks up other tricks super duper fast. 7) Not a vocal dog EXCEPT for when he's excited - then he starts "gurgling." 8) Dog friendly, not great with cats, does well with children who are respectful and dog savvy.9) Traits: Chill, easy-going, matches energy level, great to join you on an adventure or to laze the day away at home in bed. 10) Information we have gathered about Wolfie from his previous placement: a) Good on a leash b) Loves to work for treats c) Picks up new tricks lightning fast d) Incredible eye contact e) Lover boy always ready for belly rubs. f) Easily trainable and already has the basic skills down g) Obedient and receptive even in new and uncomfortable situations h) In only a few days, Wolfie learned: -A solid recall (coming when called) -Sitting and waiting for his food & other impulse control exercises -Understood and responded to just verbal corrections reminding him to calm downAfter reading all of these facts about him, the only logical conclusion that we can come to is that no one is more deserving of a forever home than our gentle giant Wolfie.Wolfie is not comfortable with young children and while he has been maturing, his discomfort with children that are small, move rapidly, and/or are loud has not changed. He also tends to display "stranger danger" - this is a common livestock guardian breed trait. While he remains perfect friendly while being greeted, he does not shy away from barking and growling at strangers who are at a distance.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wolfie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
