My story

Meet Forrest! Forrest was picked up by his foster as a stray. He was found south of Chandler in the desert like he was on his way to Tucson. Based on how dirty and matted he was, we believe he had been on his own for a while. His foster cleaned him up really nicely and did a thorough search for an owner, but no one has come forward in over 2 months. We have had him neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, so Forrest is now ready to find his forever home! Despite his history as a stray, Forrest settled easily into his foster home. He is incredibly loving and gets very excited to see his people. This does mean that he has a tendency to jump on people, especially when his foster comes home, but he is learning to respond well to correction as needed. He hasn’t shown any other behavioral issues around the house; he doesn’t bark excessively or chew on things that he shouldn’t, and he does well in a crate when his people aren’t home. He also loves his meals and treats, a big plus for anyone looking to do more training. Forrest’s fosters describe him as being medium-energy. He loves going for walks and even knows how to walk politely on a leash. He was initially timid with the other dogs in the home, but after taking a few days to warm up, he has become much more playful. He should have no problem living in a home with other dogs if given adequate time to adjust (he has not been tested with cats). Forrest could truly make himself a part of any family. He’s good with kids and loves to cuddle with his humans. Although we don’t know his background, he has shown himself to be sweet, easy-going, and an all-around good boy. Not to mention he’s handsome as can be – check out those eyes! He has all of the husky fluff without (most of) the husky challenges. If that sounds like your kind of dog, fill out an application today to meet Forrest! https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Forrest, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
