My story

Meet Rhonda! 15-year-old Rhonda originally came to us from the San Diego Humane Society–Escondido and was adopted into a very loving home. Sadly, she returned to our care after her devoted mom passed away. Heartbroken by the loss, this sweet girl struggled to adjust. Fortunately, an experienced foster stepped in to provide Rhonda with the gentle care and calm environment she needed—and now she’s truly thriving! Rhonda's Foster Mom shares: "Rhonda Roo is a light in my life. I have adored having her as one of my foster dogs. She is alert and curious about life and she doesn't let her arthritis or limited mobility limit her capacity to love and be loved. Rhonda loves to go out on short adventures and walks in her stroller around the neighborhood, feel the sun on her fur and let anyone passing by pet her and give her treats. She loves to toddle around the condo exploring and stretching her little Roo legs and patiently waits for you to help her back to her feet when she falls down. Rhonda is fully potty trained but does need your help going to the bathroom by expressing her bladder and stimulating her to poop. She is very accustomed to going to the bathroom in this way outside or on a potty pad. It's is a easy process I can show any new family. Rhonda loves her wet food and because she's a little old lady with only 1 tooth she prefers wet food she can easily lick up. Her nightly meds are just as easy and licks them up as well or in the off occasion she takes them easily by syringe. This girl is full of love and curiosity about her world and who is in it. At night, her favorite thing to do is sit with me on the couch to get her ears scratched or during the day lay in her bed and watch out the window as the people and cars go by. I know Rhonda has many more years left of love to give. She would make a great companion for someone who appreciates a dog who is affectionate, yet emotionally independent, and that understands Rhonda's physical limitations as she ages." To meet this very girl, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rhonda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
