My story

Meet Loki — a striking cattle dog mix with a sharp mind, a loyal heart, and a watchful spirit. Loki may be slow to warm up to new people, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll have a steadfast companion for life. He thrives on connection with his inner circle and is incredibly loyal and protective of those he loves. In his previous home, Loki lived with children and proved to be a reliable guardian and companion. This smart, independent boy is both house and kennel trained and does well with structure and routine. Like many herding breeds, Loki has strong protective instincts. He may show some resource guarding at mealtimes and can be wary of strangers entering his space, so an experienced, dog-savvy adopter who can help him feel secure will be key to his success. Loki has a high jump and has been known to clear a 6-foot fence, so he’ll need a secure containment plan to keep him safe. He’s an energetic, intelligent dog who will thrive with plenty of mental and physical exercise, along with positive reinforcement and patience as he settles into his forever home. Loki is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption.
