My story

Meet Jessa Jolene, a 5-year-old Terrier mix with a spunky personality and a heart full of love. Rescued as a stray in Tennessee, she made her way to Big Dog Ranch in hopes of finding the forever home she deserves. While she was previously adopted, she was returned due to her high energy and mouthy play style which wasn’t the best fit for a household with young children. Jessa Jolene has a moderate energy level and enjoys walks, playtime with her favorite toys, and splashing around in the water. She’s a smart and alert pup who’s also housetrained and good on a leash. Jessa Jolene can be dog selective, but with proper introductions and supervision, she can thrive with the right canine companion. She would do best in a home with older children who can respect her boundaries and understand her playful, occasionally mouthy nature. She’s not a fan of cats and can be protective of her food—both with other dogs and sometimes with people—so an experienced adopter will be important to help manage these behaviors with patience and guidance. Despite her quirks, Jessa Jolene is a loving and loyal girl who adores cuddle time and being near her people.
