My story

Meet Sploot! This 4 year old lady came to us back in 2023, and is now available adoption. When she arrived, Sploot had a facial injury that required urgent care, and was on a hold while we worked to determine her next steps. In the time that she has been here, she has become a staff and volunteer favorite! I mean, who could resist this amazing girl's incredible smile? She's a sweet girl who loves her treats, her people, and her toys! She will lean into pets once she's comfortable with you but can take some time to warm up at first to strangers and may want to meet you a few times before she becomes your new bestie! Sploot is often the star of the show and loves to sit and offer her thoughts on our daily morning meeting (she currently resides in our Admissions office, and is the best officemate). She is often bringing us toys, and sitting in everyone's laps as we chat. She is most likely housetrained and has never had an accident in the office. She walks well on leash, especially when she is walking on her harness, but does sometimes like to bark at people and animals she passes by, or who walk by the window to her office. Because of this, we recommend she not live in communal housing. Sploot would prefer to be the only pet in the home, so she can be spoiled endlessly and be the princess of the household! She is not a cat fan, nor would she like any canine siblings. Although she's been here a long time, she has a delightfully quirky personality and a passionate love for her stuffed llama! She could go home with children 13 years and up who will respect her boundaries and understand that sometimes she would like some time to herself. Sploot is also a part of our Rosie's Rule program. Animal Friends has teamed up with Fi Smart Dog Collar to provide GPS-enabled dog collars for Animal Friends' canine residents who may be at an increased risk of becoming separated from their handler.
