My story

Meet Yogi! He is a happy, loved boy here at Animal Friends, but unfortunately his life before coming here was difficult. This cute boy came to the shelter through our Humane Investigation department as just a small puppy. Due to Yogi's court case, he had no choice but to grow up in the shelter. Yogi has made so many friends, learned wonderful doggy manners, and has made great strides during his time here with us. Now it is finally time for this boy to get to know a true home! Yogi is a high energy boy who loves to play, and do enrichment, but Yogi does need to live in a home that is adults-only. He also could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet and greet at the shelter. Some of Yogi's best qualities are: *He has been working with several of our dedicated handlers on his manners, and has mastered a few different skills during his time here! *He is very affectionate, and loves to spend quiet time with his handlers doing enrichment. *He has learned how to walk well on a harness, and even goes on cage breaks to go hiking sometimes where he rides well in the car. *He is incredibly smart, and is open to learning more skills! Yogi is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They've certainly been extra loved here! If you have room in your heart and your home to give one of our special animals, check with our Adoption team to learn about our Extra Loved program and if there is any additional support we may be able to offer alongside your adoption! This dog is also a part of our Rosie's Rule program. Animal Friends has teamed up with Fi Smart Dog Collar to provide GPS-enabled dog collars for Animal Friends’ canine residents who are at an increased risk of becoming separated from their handler and not being safely reunited. These dogs may startle easily, have had a lack of human socialization or attempt to flee or hide in unfamiliar settings. Once outfitted with a Fi collar, Rosie’s Rule dogs will keep their collar through adoption along with a one-year subscription to the Fi App – at no cost to their new family.
