Duchess 6136

My story

Hello, my name is Duchess. I have the name for a posh, fancy lady, but my story didn't start on a throne. Once upon a time, my brother Davis and I were in a high-kill shelter in South Carolina. I was on the list for euthanasia, but then the Ranch bus showed up, and my knights in shining armor rescued me and my brother. We went on a long journey to a magical land called Florida. My brother has since found a home, but I've been having a hard time. I had to gain a lot of weight, and I learned that I need to be on medication that will allow me to fatten up. Now, all of that happened back in 2022, and I'm still waiting to get my own palace. Like any proper lady, I know what I want and need. I'm looking for a person who knows the fun quirks of hounds and who's able to teach me how to be my best. I'm still learning confidence around strangers, so I prefer to be the one to decide who my friends are, and I'd like an understanding adopter who respects my needs. That means grown-ups only, please! When I'm with other dogs, however, I take charge. But you can't fault a Duchess for being a little bossy, can you? I still haven't learned to share with other dogs yet, and I'd do best as either your only pet or the leader of the pack with an experienced adopter. I may be the Duchess, but if you tell me you're the King or Queen, I'll respect your rule and give you my unending love, play, and devotion. I'm always excited to see those I love, and once you have my loyalty you'll never lose it. If you just give me a chance, you can be my happily ever after!
