Hi friends! My name is Elaine.I arrived at CHS from my friends at Bark Nation, they saved me. Before Bark Nation, I was abused and misguided to what pet ownership really means. Now I am loved, safe, free from pain, called a good girl, receive all the booty rubs, and have all the tennis balls my puppy heart desires. I would make the perfect hiking buddy as its one of my favorite activities (as long as it`s a nice day). Playing in the sun with my favorite toys and my best friends is the dream. My favorite toys are tennis balls and stuffies. If you are looking for a sweet, lovable older gal who is still ready for adventures - call my friends at the shelter to learn more about me. Help me make my dreams come true, I know I deserve it! Please ask my friends at the shelter about my medical needs!I would like to be the only animal in the home and mature kids (12+) for me please.Notes from Elaine’s foster:Elaine has been in our home for almost 6 months. She is such a love! She spends a great deal of her day napping in the sun and loves to follow us from room to room and stay close by to whatever we are doing. She adores all people and approaches them with joy and zeal. She loves meeting everyone! Our house has tween children in the house and she does wonderfully with them. Elaine is curious and sniffs everything. Her favorite activity is to cuddle right next to people and make nests out of blankets. She LOVES stuffies, but shows her love by destroying them. Elaine enjoys walks and can handle some distance, but loves to sniff everything along the way and make lots of stops! She is less interested in the outdoors during snow, rain or cold and prefers quick visits and then a swift return to blankets. We had Elaine loose in the house for months and just closed doors and she did wonderfully. Recently she has shown more separation anxiety and we have gone to crating her while we are away and she has done well with that. Elaine has been very receptive to learning some of the basic norms of household living (this is new to her) and she is even starting to learn to sit, come and leave it. She is very motivated by food during training and all day long. Day to day care for Elaine requires daily medications to help her anxiety and allergies. Her allergies require her to be on a special diet as well. She takes her medicine easily and happily. Twice a week she needs to take a medicated bath, which she does without a fight.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elaine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
