Raine earned her name when a good Samaritan heard her crying out in the rain. They contacted us, so of course we had to rescue her! It turned out she was pregnant, and had her kittens in short order. Now this little lady is looking for a home of her own with her only daughter, Puddles. Raine is an exceptional friendly cat who seeks out human company. Both Puddles and Raine like laying on the couch with their foster parents - each in their own spot. Raine usually prefers the ottoman and Puddles will be on the end of the couch either against the back cushion by feet or on top of the arm next to the window. Raine has a way of knowing when her foster mom is awake but still in bed - she will come to the bed and jump up by her side for some morning pets/snuggles. Raine loves laps, and loves to climb up on your shoulders so she can explore the top of your head. Yes, she is quirky, but in the best ways! If you stop petting her too soon, she will gently guide your hand back. You are done petting her when SHE says you are! There is still a lot of kitten in this girl! She loves playing with her kittens, and will chase and wrestle with them. She adores toys, and teaser wands are her absolute favorite! Raine really likes wand toys and other small mouselike toys but will often prefer just playing with Puddles. Raine and Puddles are exceptionally bonded, so we will not split them up. Puddles is Raine's favorite child, and Puddles is a mama's girl, and we are not going to deprive them of each other's company! If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please. CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home. At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone. Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Raine (& Puddles), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
