Bronx von Brome is a very handsome 8 year old classic German Shepherd. Bronx is a grumpy old guy, but he has a charming side as well. If you're one of his chosen humans, his face will light up when he sees you. On the other hand, if you're not, you might hear a low growl. At the rescue, it is like a status symbol if Bronx likes you. In a perfect world, we would love someone who lived alone and wanted a devoted companion. Someone who could visit him at the rescue first to get to know him. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home as well. We recently discovered that Bronx is allergic to chicken. His skin in now finally healing and his full coat is coming in. We know Bronx is a harder-to-place dog, but we are hoping there is that special person out there waiting for him, so he doesn't have to live his life out at the rescue. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Bronx von Brome YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bronx von Brome, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
