My story

Zeus, nicknamed Pumpkin, is an incredibly special boy who has been loved so deeply by a family who can no longer keep him. He`s a 3-year-old, 57-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix. When Zeus was adopted from us two years ago, he went with a sweet and caring young woman with whom he bonded immediately. At the time, things were perfect, but due to recent changes, Zeus had to say goodbye to his very best friend. We want to include a very raw letter, filled with love and sadness, from Zeus`s previous owner, who knew him best. Zeus is searching for a confident and loving person who can provide him with the care he needs!`I was his previous owner, and it was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my entire life. Zeus was the love of my life for two years. I didn’t think I could have children, so when I found out he wasn’t good with kids, it didn’t bother me at the time. Well, after I had a baby, I still tried, and it didn’t work out, and it wasn’t an ideal situation. The day I got pregnant, before my little man was born. I cried every single day up until the day I had to have my husband bring him to the shelter a year later. It was the hardest loss of my entire life. There is not one thing I did without Zeus. He honestly was my best friend. I want you to know how much he was loved and how hard it was for us to make that decision.A little bit about Zeus… Zeus is the perfect dog. He loves cuddles, cuddles are his absolute favorite thing in the world, but he also loves to play outside if you wanna play outside (he loves squeaky toys). He`s fully potty trained. He just wants to be wherever his human is. He is the most loyal dog I’ve ever met in my entire life. Once he accepts you, he will protect you and love you with everything he has.Zeus struggles with some men. That said, slow introductions work best for him. There were many friends of mine and family who were men with whom he was great. Once you’re in his pack, he adores you. Male strangers just take a little bit to warm up. Zeus also, like I mentioned before, struggles with kids but yet was great with my younger siblings who are 12 and 13. For some reason, with any other kids, he struggled. He is very protective of women, even my younger sister, who is 12.What did Zeus‘s life look like before you might wonder? Zeus was the perfect dog! Zeus used to go to many truck pulls and drag races! He would hop in the semi and drive anywhere with us. He loved car rides. He love
