My story

* Currently in Texas * We would like for you to meet Selma! This poor little black puppy was dropped off at a Veterinarian's office. The door was opened and this puppy ran into the waiting room with a wagging tail, followed by a man’s voice saying “anyone want my dog?” Thankfully for this pup one of the board members of Straight Outta Texas was in this waiting room and stepped up to give an unwanted pup a chance at finding a family that wanted her. The rescue has named her Selma. She is a 4.5 month old, lab mix pup weighing about 25 lbs currently. She has been vetted, microchipped, and has an appointment for her spay. Selma not having the greatest start at life has been given a second chance. Her foster had this to say about Selma “she is very sweet, submissive, dog/cat/children friendly. She loves to play with the other pups to get her playful energy out but can sometimes not know when to call it quits and can get a little rough. Although when another pup lets her know her play is too much, she plays the victim by crying out. Selma is not big fan of her crate but will go in for a treat. “ Selma is currently in a loving foster home in Texas and available for adoption in CT, ME, NH, VT, NY or NJ. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting, please fill out an application For adopting: https://form.jotform.com/201828253780154 If you are unable to adopt, there are other ways you can help: We are always in need of donations and foster homes in CT, VT, and TX Please note: We are unable to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time Adoption Application link: https://form.jotform.com/201828253780154 Please submit an application instead of sending an inquiry even if you just have questions. Sending an inquiry will slow down the process, limit the ways that we can contact you and may send our reply email to your spam folder. Another application could be processed instead of yours for this dog. All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, Adopt a Pet and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending. We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue and veterinary care of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes. The transport fee is an additional $206.89. We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs. Ready to Adopt? The next step is to fill out our Adoption Application. A volunteer will contact you to review your application and see if your family might be the right match. Please Visit our Website https://www.straightouttatexas.org/ And look for us on Facebook

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Selma, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
