My story

Dutton loves everyone he meets, dogs and people alike, and can’t get enough of the dog park, where he plays with ALL the dogs and has charmed all of our neighbors. He loves camping with us and hikes off leash perfectly with an occasional squirrel chase detour but always rejoins us on the trail. He’s a happy, well behaved passenger in the car and he’s very relaxed in the house after being given the opportunity to burn off his energy. He makes great eye contact, is very teachable and will do anything for a treat. He responds well to “no” and happily corrects his behavior. He uses the doggie door to go out and do his business and has shown no interest in escaping from the yard. Like all young active dogs, he needs an owner who is committed to his training and exercise and is able to spend time with him during the day. He would do best in a home with older children. He would be happy to live with another dog or to be a spoiled rotten only pup. We haven’t had an opportunity to see how he does with cats. I’m only going to say this because I know our previous 3 foster dogs can’t read yet: Dutton is my favorite foster: fun, gentle, playful, loves attention but doesn’t demand it 24/7. History – Dutton entered the shelter on 3/3 with his sister. After she was adopted, Dutton started showing signs of kennel stress and that’s when the shelter reached out to LR for help.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dutton, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
