My story

HobbieHello everyone! I`m so glad you have looked me up on the HSHC website. As you can see from my photos, I am a ginger & white cat, with huge gold eyes and an enormous heart! I`m loaded with personality and charm, and am a real staff favorite. I was originally from the Terre Haute Humane Society, but I was surrendered to HSHC in May 2022. My first owner had my front paws declawed when I was only six to nine months old. Boy, do I wish she hadn`t done that. The results of this surgery are pain, arthritis, and difficulty walking. Anyhoo. I am 7-years, 8-months old, and an HSHC alumnus, as I`ve been here before. My families have all reported that I am a sweetheart of a feline! Super lovey and cuddly, I am a friend to everyone. My families have adored me. I have successfully lived with cats, dogs, and kids. It`s safe to say I`m a super-friendly fellow, even with strangers! I am very affectionate and will seek attention and affection from anyone who offers it. I enjoy being carried and held, especially when you pet and scratch me. My weight has gone up and down throughout my life, at one time being overweight and now just right. I`ve never been one for exercise and working out. Naps are very important to me. I am fond of catnip and string toys. I`ve always been an indoor cat and left alone for up to nine hours a day. For a while, I lived with a spayed lady cat. We got along so well, playing and grooming each other. I`m very tolerant of dogs, content to live and let live. I recently moved in with a foster family, and my foster mom (FM) reported to the interviewer lady (IL) `Hobbie loves my 5- year-old son, and hangs out with our small dog and two cats with no issues. He especially loves being with us, chilling out on the couch. The rather ironic, funny thing about Hobbie is that he loves to scratch on scratching posts, even though he is declawed!` The IL agrees with the FM that I am a lovable hunk of sugar, and I deserve to spend the rest of my life in a loving, forever home.
