My story

BinkyFrankly, I don`t know what all the fuss is about. I`m closing in on 9 years old, spayed, use the litter box faithfully, eat well, and play with the toys I`m given. I am a beautiful, petite, jet-black female with a long, lustrous coat. I`m not a bad cat, just a bit particular about my interactions. I prefer to be allowed access to the outdoors during the day and welcomed back in at night. I am a playful girl; my favorite toys are string toys and things I can bat around the floor. I do not care for children, and I do not tolerate other animals in my home. Despite my objections, I gather that my owner of eight years preferred to permit those creatures into the house. That is why I was surrendered to the HSHC on March 9. Good grief! What did the woman expect? She found me as a stray kitten and knew my personality from the beginning. The shelter staff decided I would be happier in a foster home where I could relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the cattery. My foster mom (FM) contacted the interviewer lady (IL) with the following updates. I like to sleep in the bed she got for me. I`m still hesitant to get very close to her, but she believes that with time, I will come to love her attention. She vacuumed my room the other night, and I stayed in there the whole time watching and wondering what the heck she was doing! I`ve given her the slow blink, and I`ve been grooming myself, which shows her I`m pretty comfortable. FM thinks I would be more receptive to a home without small children and dogs. Luckily, she also figured out that I would need a long time to fully trust her and feel comfortable. The HSHC staff recommends that I be adopted into an adult-only home without any other pets. It will take longer to adjust to my new address than you might think necessary. But it will help develop my confidence and sense of security to have calming aids, interactive toys, regular play sessions, and yummy treats. Don`t you agree that a bit of spice makes life interesting, which is a code for my unique needs and preferences? 7-7-25
