*** Sweet Pea is in a foster home ***Sweet Pea #13993: brown & black tabby w/white, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/15/18Cats: nope Dogs: hard pass Children: calm tweens & teens probably okayNote: Being a resourceful little lady, Sweet Pea has crafted her very own letter to share with you.Dear Kind Person: My guess is that you`ll be surprised by how gentle I am once you read my origin story. So, I`d already been through quite a bit, but Rescue House and I thought I`d won the kitty lottery because I was adopted! In fact, I felt doubly lucky because the family adopted my brother, too! Unfortunately, my brother began to bully me. As you can imagine, this really affected my self-esteem and feelings of safety. After a few months, the situation became untenable, and I was pretty traumatized. I began hiding all of the time, so my bully brother couldn`t find me and pounce on me. While this helped me hone my survival skills, it deeply impacted my feelings of security. My adopter realized this just would not do, and she reached out to RH for me. We all agreed that it was in my best interest to return to RH. Thank goodness I`m in foster care now, and I feel like I can truly breathe—not look over my furry shoulder—for the first time in a long time. Now that I`m feeling safer, maybe I should start trying new things to relax. Maybe yoga? I`m already really good at something called `downward dog,` (which is kind of funny since I’m a cat). I am at heart a human-loving purr machine (who likes to dabble in ninja overnight feng shui redecorating of the living room). Once I settle in with you, I’ll give you oh-so many cuddles and I will be beyond pleased when you pet me. I will happily let you shower me with affection. I am enjoying the peace and love in my foster home, and I am so hopeful you are a patient, loving person, who will let me come out of my shell at my own pace. You will be handsomely rewarded if you do. I truly have an endless reserve of love in my heart for you!I forgot to ask: do you already have a cat? I have to be honest: I`m a bit apprehensive about that. That said, I have peacefully cohabitated with other cats (before the bullying) and might be okay with a welcoming kitty friend. Please no dogs or young children, though, as I really need a peaceful, quiet home to rest and recover. (Well-behave
