A Different Kind of Adoption Moment
During National Adoption Week, the team was on the ground supporting local adoption partners and helping more pets find loving homes.
Along the way, they were also fostering Seamus, giving him extra care, attention, and the chance to be seen while he waited for the right home.
That meant bringing him along to everyday places, walks, cafés, and local spots around the city, helping him get comfortable, socialized, and visible to potential adopters.
Because sometimes, the right connection happens when you least expect it.
The Night Everything Changed
That night, the team brought Seamus to a pet-friendly brewery.
He had his “adopt me” collar on.
And that’s when his future family saw him.
“I just went over and knew that he was my dog.”

They weren’t planning to adopt that night.
But in that moment, none of that mattered.
Something clicked.
From Chance Encounter to Forever Home
They also found out he would be at an upcoming National Adoption Week event at their local PetSmart store.
They didn’t want to miss their chance.
The very next day, they went to the event to make it official.
This was their first time adopting a dog, and the excitement was immediate—especially for the kids, who were already imagining everything they’d do together.
They named him Seamus, inspired by a Harry Potter character.
And just like that, he was home.
“We knew that he’d be perfect for us.”

Why These Moments Matter
Seamus’ story didn’t happen by accident.
It happened because people showed up, fostering, caring, and giving him the chance to be seen.
That visibility created the moment where someone could walk up, make a connection, and change his life.
What Adoption Really Looks Like
Adoption doesn’t always follow a plan.
Sometimes, it’s a split-second decision.
A feeling. A connection. A moment where you just know.
Seamus found his family that way.
And every day, more pets are given that same chance.
You’re Part of This Story
If you’ve adopted, you’ve felt it too.
That moment where everything clicks.
That’s what adoption makes possible.
And it’s happening every day, because people choose to open their homes, and because pets like Seamus get the chance to be seen.
