Why do you think pets are important in the lives of people?
Pets bring an unmatched joy. The unconditional love, the playfulness, the emotional connection helps to improve lives. Seeing these pet/people relationships grow and the impact it has on lives is fun to see – both as a pet parent and a pet lover.
How has your pet (or a previous pet) changed your life?
We recently got a new puppy, and it has been so fun to watch my 4-year-old daughter love on him. She immediately felt he was part of our family and wants to include him in all that we do. She’s also learning (early!) responsibility — which has been fun to see. And in return, he gives her unconditional love which continues to warm our hearts.
What makes you most excited about working with PetSmart Charities?
The stories around Charities’ support for domestic violence survivors is particularly impactful. Hearing that one of the obstacles for many domestic violence victims in leaving abusers in fear for their safety is heartbreaking. The work that Charities does to help ensure pets and people stay together when they need each other most is powerful.
