Mooney

My story

Mooney is about 40lbs. He is about one year 5 months old. Mooney came from the Havasupai Indian Reservation in Grand Canyon October 2025. He was 18 lbs and we guessed he was near 4 months old. He is neutered and has all his basic vaccinations, rabies (parvo etc). Mooney loves to play tug-o-war, and fetch. He is good with older kids and other dogs if he’s gotten a chance to get to know them a bit. Mooney knows basic commands (sit, down, go to bed, kennel, stay) He has a strong herding instinct and may nip at ankles of a stranger/or kids running. He also has nervous energy at times. He would be best with someone who can train him properly. He would thrive on a ranch or farm as a working dog. Mooney is housebroken and uses the dog door. We have been socializing Mooney at the dog park. He was initially fearful but now is playful with dogs after time to settle in on passive side. He is food agressive with other dogs but not us. He needs time, patience and proper training.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mooney, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
