Chickadee

My story

From her foster mom, Kaley: Chickadee is a sweet, gentle kitten who likes to take her time getting to know people. She's a little shy at first, but once she decides she trusts you, she'll come looking for pets, snuggles, and playtime. Those moments feel extra special because you know you've earned them. She's also unusually calm for a kitten. While her siblings are busy with their latest round of rambunctious kitten antics, Chickadee can often be found sitting nearby and simply watching. She's still playful and enjoys joining in, but she doesn't feel the need to be in the middle of everything all the time. There's something almost contemplative about her, as though she's quietly taking it all in. Chickadee is also a particularly gentle girl. While some of her siblings have had to learn that toes and hands aren't toys, that lesson was never really necessary for her. She's naturally soft and sweet in the way she interacts with people. She would probably be happiest in a somewhat quieter home where she's given time to settle in and build trust at her own pace. She does well with other cats and, although she's more independent than her siblings, would likely enjoy having another friendly kitty around for companionship and play. She would do best with older children, and we don't yet know how she feels about dogs. Chickadee's siblings Dove, Wren, and Magpie are also available for adoption, and so is their mama, Birdy! None of them are bonded, but if you're considering adopting two cats, Chickadee would especially enjoy having a kitty companion, and bringing home one of her siblings would give her a familiar playmate. Chickadee's mama, Birdy, was a porch cat who became pregnant and had five kittens. The homeowner reached out to Meowtown, and the little family came into foster care when the babies were just one week old. For someone who appreciates a gentle, calmer companion, Chickadee is a very special little girl. Born 08/06/2026 At Meowtown, we don't have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They're not waiting to become housecats... they already are. They just need a house. This kitten has not been spayed yet, but is available as Foster2Adopt. You adopt and take the kitten home with you, and we pay for and arrange for spay later.
