My story

Meet Felicity, a 5½-year-old, 26-pound Black Mouth Cur mix who recently joined Friends for Life from another facility and is now hoping to find the forever home where she can settle in and let her sweet personality shine.Felicity is a gentle, sensitive girl who is still getting used to her new surroundings. She may be hesitant at times, but she quietly approaches volunteers and looks to her handler for reassurance and direction. She responds beautifully to a familiar voice, and when she's called, she'll lift her head and give a sweet little tail wag—as if to say, “I'm trying!”While toys and treats haven't interested her yet, Felicity has discovered something she does enjoy: being brushed and spending quiet time with her people. She's easy to handle and seems to appreciate gentle attention without asking for too much too quickly. She enjoys walks, and has excellent leash manners, but when she sees another dog she moves away and does not want to interact, so she'll be happiest as your only canine companion.Felicity is the kind of dog whose personality will blossom once she feels safe, secure, and loved. She's a bit scared at our adoption center but she is blossomin in her foster home, where we have discovered she is house and crate trained. If you have a soft spot for the quieter souls and would enjoy watching a deserving girl gain confidence and learn that she's finally home, come meet Felicity. She may just be waiting for you. To get started in the process of meeting Felicity, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Felicity, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
