My story

From her foster dad, Chris: Blue isn't the cat who will necessarily run up and introduce herself the moment you walk through the door. Her affection is something you earn, and when you do, it feels incredibly special. This petite little girl has taken her time learning to trust people. She prefers to quietly observe from a comfortable distance until she's decided you're safe. But once Blue lets you into her world, you'll discover the sweetest surprise: she turns into a little purr box. There's something incredibly rewarding about knowing this cautious girl has chosen to trust you. Blue is tiny and unbelievably soft. Her coat feels almost like a chinchilla, and sometimes the coloring in her stripes actually gives her a bluish appearance. She's a beautiful, delicate little girl with a quiet personality to match. She even has her own way of communicating when she's feeling social. Blue has a favorite bed, and when she settles into it near me, it's her little signal that she's comfortable and willing to spend some time together. Those may seem like small moments, but with a shy cat like Blue, they're huge. Blue would thrive with a patient person who understands that trust doesn't always happen overnight. She doesn't need someone to push her into becoming a different cat. She needs someone willing to give her the time and space to become comfortable at her own pace. A friendly, confident cat in the home would be especially wonderful for her. Her story also says a lot about the importance of her feline family. Blue and her siblings began hanging around my backyard and eventually made their way inside. Blue was the cautious one. After her siblings had been brought to safety, she stayed outside crying for them. I finally used a humane trap to bring her inside and reunite her with the family she was missing. And if you'd like to give Blue a familiar companion in her new home, her siblings, Boomer and Pretty Kitty, are also available for adoption. Blue is not bonded to either of them, but since she does so well with other cats, adopting one of her siblings with her could be a wonderful option. If you're the kind of person who finds joy in earning the trust of a shy cat and watching her slowly realize that she's safe and loved, Blue may be the one who steals your heart. With patience, you'll get to experience the moment that quiet little ghost decides you're her person, and there's nothing quite like it. Born 04/08/2026 A Special Note About Blue: Blue has tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), but right now she is a happy, playful kitten who feels great and is ready to enjoy life with a loving family. FeLV-positive cats can have wonderful quality of life and may remain healthy for years, although their lives can sometimes be shorter and they may eventually need additional veterinary care. FeLV affects cats only—it cannot be transmitted to people, dogs, or other non-cat pets. Because it can spread between cats through close, prolonged contact, Blue should be the only cat in the home or live with another FeLV-positive cat (like her littermates Boomer or Pretty Kitty). She should also remain indoors and receive regular veterinary checkups so any health changes can be addressed promptly. Adopting an FeLV-positive kitten takes a special person who understands that no one can predict exactly how much time any pet will have. What Blue can promise is a lot of love, laughter, and companionship for however many years you share. At Meowtown, we don't have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They're not waiting to become housecats... they already are. They just need a house. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at MeowtownAR@gmail.com to arrange a visit with my foster home!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Blue, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
