My story

`Peaches Peaches Peaches Peaches Peaches, I love you!` The song most certainly sums up how we here at HSHPE feel about Peaches.Peaches has one of those stories that truly warms your heart. Once a feral cat who wasn`t sure humans could be trusted, she has completely transformed during her time here at HSHPE. With patience, kindness, and plenty of tasty treats, Peaches has done a full 180 and discovered that people can actually be pretty wonderful.This sweet girl is highly food-motivated and treats are definitely the fastest way to her heart. While she may be a little cautious when meeting new people, give her some time, offer a few treats, and you`ll quickly see her gentle, affectionate personality shine through. Once she decides you`re a friend, Peaches is a loving companion who enjoys your company and happily welcomes attention.One of Peaches` favorite ways of communicating is through slow blinking. In the feline world, a slow blink is a sign of trust and affection, often referred to as a `cat kiss.` When we slowly close and open our eyes around cats, it signals that we mean no harm and helps them feel safe and relaxed. For Peaches, slow blinking has been an especially important part of building trust, and she`ll often return the gesture once she feels comfortable. It`s a simple but wonderful way to bond with her.Because of her past, Peaches will thrive best in a quiet, calm home where she can settle in at her own pace. Sudden changes, loud environments, or lots of activity may be overwhelming for her initially. Given the time and space she needs to adjust, she rewards her people with unwavering trust and affection. Watching her continue to blossom is incredibly rewarding.Peaches is looking for a patient adopter who understands that the best friendships aren`t always rushed. If you`re willing to let her take those first few steps on her own terms, you`ll gain a sweet, loyal companion who has already shown just how much love she has to give. If you have a cat already, Peaches may do alright with a feline friend, but we are currently unsure how she would do living with a canine.Could you be the person Peaches chooses to trust next?
