My story

Some dogs wait days. Some wait weeks. Honeysuckle has been waiting for months.. which is pretty much her whole life! She came to the shelter as a tiny stray alongside her siblings. One by one, every single one of them found a family. Honeysuckle stayed behind. People always say the black puppies get overlooked. Sadly, Honeysuckle is living proof. Then life threw her another curveball. She was exposed to parvo at the shelter and had to spend two long weeks in quarantine. At an age when puppies should be chasing butterflies, rolling in grass, and discovering the world, Honeysuckle had to wait. But the moment quarantine ended... she bloomed. Honeysuckle discovered grass beneath her paws, toys, sunshine, belly rubs, and that humans can be pretty amazing. She soaked up every second like she'd been saving her joy for the perfect moment. Now Honeysuckle is part of our Prison Puppy Program in Georgia, where she's surrounded by people who adore her every day. She's learning manners, building confidence, and most importantly, learning what it feels like to be truly loved. Honeysuckle is sunshine wrapped in a black fur coat. She bounces into every room with a wagging tail and a heart that refuses to give up. She's social, confident, playful, and makes friends wherever she goes. All she needs now is the one thing she's never had. A family to call her own. Adopt Honeysuckle, we have a feeling your home has been waiting for a little sunshine. **Adopters must be able to pick up in Niagara Falls, NY** Good with adults: yes Good with kids: yes Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: yes House trained: working on it but doing great so far Crate trained: yes Energy level: medium- puppy like Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: no Flight risk: no; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments Food aggressive: no Walks on leash: yes Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in car: yes Destructive: when unsupervised but learning what is okay to chew/play with Needs a home with a yard: preferably Needs a home with another dog: no Can live in an apartment: not ideal Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
