QUICK FACTS Name: Samsun Age: About 2 Years Old Gender: Female (Spaying Scheduled) Breed: Labrador Retriever Color: Brown Weight: 24kg / 53lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I arrived at a municipal shelter with a broken leg and spent my entire holding period there without being able to receive the treatment I needed. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety so I could finally get the care I had been waiting for. Since then, I've been given the chance to heal and move forward, and now I'm looking forward to finding a loving forever family and beginning a much brighter chapter of my life.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spaying Scheduled & healthy with no known health issues Completed surgery to repair a fracture in one of the front legs   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I'm Samsun! I'm everything people know and love about Retrievers wrapped into one beautiful girl—sweet, gentle, friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully good-natured. My caregivers like to joke that I'm not just a Retriever, I'm Retriever through and through! From the way I look to the way I behave, I have that classic happy, loving personality that makes it incredibly easy to fall in love with me. I have a naturally trusting, gentle way about me and simply enjoy being part of whatever is happening around me. I'm also a very polite and clever girl who already knows cues like sit and wait. With other dogs, I'm just as easygoing—I get along beautifully with canine friends and haven't had any conflicts since arriving. I'm much more interested in making friends and enjoying life than creating any drama. If you've been dreaming of that classic Retriever companion—a gentle best friend who loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and brings warmth wherever she goes—I might be exactly who you've been waiting for. I've finished healing my leg; now I'm ready to start the happiest chapter of my life, right by your side.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm an affectionate and outgoing dog who loves being around people. Whether you're someone I already know or we're meeting for the very first time, I'll happily come over, lean against you, and enjoy plenty of gentle pets. I may even roll over and show you my belly right away, so I don't take long to make myself comfortable around new friends! I'm also comfortable being picked up with support under my belly. I haven't had the opportunity to meet children under 13 yet, so my behavior around young kids is simply unknown. · With Dogs: I'm a friendly and social dog who enjoys meeting other dogs, whether they're familiar friends or brand-new faces. I'll happily approach to say hello and often invite them to play. I'm also naturally peace-loving—if another dog tries to provoke me, I usually prefer to step away and avoid conflict rather than engage. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but once I've had my daily activity, I'm happy to settle down and relax quietly at home. I'm an experienced walker with lovely leash manners. I don't tend to pull and naturally follow my person's lead, making our walks together comfortable and enjoyable.   TRAINING & HABITS I don't show any resource guarding around food with either people or other dogs. If there's something I really want, I may let you know with a bit of demand barking, but with consistent guidance, I can continue learning when it's appropriate to use my voice. I'm calm and comfortable when I'm in a kennel and settle quietly when needed. I'm accustomed to both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty breaks, giving me some flexibility as I adjust to my new family's routine.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES One of my front legs had been fractured in an accident.
