My story

Hi, everyone! My name is Violet , and after taking wonderful care of my puppies, I am ready to find a loving family of my own. I cannot tell you much about the beginning of my story because I was found as a stray and taken to the pound. I arrived with three tiny nursing puppies who depended on me for everything. I did my best to keep them fed, warm, and safe, even though life had clearly not been easy for us. Nobody came to the pound to claim me, so Central Arizona Animal Rescue stepped in and gave my little family a safe place to stay. For the first time in a while, I could relax and concentrate on being a good mama. Sadly, one of my puppies became extremely ill. He suffered three grand mal seizures in less than five hours. After examining him, the veterinarian explained that he would never be healthy and was unlikely to survive. The heartbreaking but compassionate decision was made to let him go peacefully so that he would not continue to suffer. I lost one of my babies, but I continued caring faithfully for the other two. The good news is that my surviving puppies are now fat, happy, and thriving . They will be available for adoption once they are old enough to be spayed or neutered. I am proud of the job I have done raising them, but now it is finally time for someone to take care of me. The rescue thinks I am probably some kind of Australian Shepherd mix . Whatever breeds are in my family tree, they created one very affectionate girl! I am super sweet, adore people, and want to please everyone I meet. I would love a home where I can be included in daily life, receive plenty of attention, and finally discover what it feels like to belong. When I arrived at the rescue, I was in desperate need of some personal care. The fur around my rear was badly matted because no one had cleaned or groomed me after I gave birth. The mats were so severe that I needed a major grooming session and ended up with what the rescue affectionately calls a "Brazilian trim." It was not exactly the glamorous makeover I imagined, but it removed all the painful, dirty mats. My beautiful coat will grow back, and I already feel so much better. I have now been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped , so I am ready to begin the next chapter of my life. The rescue does not know whether I have been house-trained, but I am eager to please and should be easy to teach with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Here is one funny thing you should know about me: I absolutely love playing in water! Splashing around is great fun when it is my idea. Baths, however, are a different story. Apparently, I prefer my water without soap and entirely on my own terms. A kiddie pool might be the fastest way to win my heart! I have already shown how loving, resilient, and devoted I can be. I survived life as a stray, raised my puppies, endured a painful loss, and still greet people with sweetness and affection. Now I am looking for a family who will see how special I am and promise that I will never be abandoned again. Could that family be yours? To schedule an appointment to meet me, please email mike@caaronline.org . I will be waiting at Central Arizona Animal Rescue , ready to greet you with a happy face, a loving heart, and perhaps a playful splash or two. Love, Violet   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
